Guidelines Minimize
Abstracts are now being accepted by the Technical Program Committee for presentation at the Illinois Section AWWA - Illinois
Water Environment Association (ISAWWA-IWEA) 2011 WATERCON Joint Water Conference which will be held in Springfield, Illinois,
March 19-22, 2012

Papers are being sought in all areas of public water supply both in potable and waste treatment. The schedule for the
conference is:
March 19 - Monday - waste water topics only
March 20 - Tuesday - both potable water and waste water along with topics of interest to both
March 21 - Wednesday morning session - both potable water and waste water along with topics of interest to both
March 21- Wednesday afternoon session - potable water only
March 22 - Thursday - potable water only

If your paper is selected, the Technical Program Committee will determine the day it is best suited. Presentations will be
30-45 minutes maximum including question and answer sessions. You will be directed as to if your paper should be 30 or 45
minutes depending on the session it is assigned to.

Registration fees for the day you are speaking are complimentary along with any group meal served that day not including banquets.
There will be no honorariums or travel fees paid.

The PDF of your presentation will be included on a CD that will be distributed onsite and electronically one week prior to the conference.

All presentations will be pre-loaded on the computers to insure a smooth transition. Upon acceptance of your presentation
your Powerpoint will need to be submitted by February 15th, 2012

Presenters will be furnished the link to upload power points and any associated handouts.

All abstracts are to be submitted electronically including the following information.


Title of Paper
Authors Names, titles and company
Presenters Names (who will be there that day)
Primary Contact Person (one person who will coordinate all of your presenters on this paper)
Long Abstract (for review of the technical program committee - no more than 400 words)
Short Abstract (for the printed program - no more than 8 sentences)

Biographies of the presenters will be requested upon selection of your abstract.
Biography of presenters (what you would like read to introduce the speakers - limit 300 words total)

Selection of papers is based on an evaluation of abstracts by the Technical Program Committee, considering quality, originality
of subject, technical content, and significance to understanding and improving the water environment.
Thank you in advance for your abstract submission.  Please be sure and spell check your abstract as it is what will be in the program.

Deadline for Abstracts - September 1, 2011.
