A Day at the Museum

We are quickly approaching the Sections Annual Conference, this year we are proud to bring back the Waterworks Museum. The museum was so poplar last year we decided to relocate it to the second floor of the Crowne Plaza. Interesting items will be located in a secure room for everyone’s viewing. But as with any great museum, we need your help to make it a success. If you went through the museum last year you saw some very interesting things from years past, and maybe even thought we have something like that tucked away in the corner of our water plant.  If you didn’t see the display here’s what we are looking for, any water or wastewater industry artifact. This could be anything from wooden water main, testing equipment or photos from board meetings, main breaks or construction projects. If it’s old we want to see it!

How do I display my artifacts, you ask? It is very easy, give me a call or drop me an email and let me know what you would like to bring. We need to know what it is and how large it is, from there we will provide you with a space to display your item. Space will be limited so please don’t delay. If you think it might be interesting, it probably is, and we want to see it!

Volunteers are also needed to staff the museum, please let us know if you can spare an hour or two and help man the museum. This is a great place to give a little something back to the Section, spend some time in the museum and meet with attendees of the conference.

If you have an item to display or would like to volunteer please contact Dennis Ross at ross@otterlakewater.net or (217)965-1566
