WELCOME TO THE SMALL SYSTEMS COMMITTEE Minimize

The Small Systems Committee is dedicated to improving small systems' compliance with drinking water regulations and improve small systems' capacity to provide safe water.  We are currently seeking operators or managers from small systems to become a part part of the growth and direction of this committee!! To find out how you can volunteer, please contact the Committee Chair.

The committee currently consists of volunteers from the Illinois Rural Community Assistance Program (RCAP), Illinois Rural Water Association (IRWA) , Illinois State Water Survey (ISWS), Camp Dresser & McKee Inc. (CDM), and Crawford, Murphy, and Tilly (CMT). If you need to contact any of our volunteers to propose ideas, ask questions, or just to say hello, please feel free to call or email them.

Goals Minimize

Short Term:

  • Increase the number of committee volunteers to include small system operators that work for a small system;
  • Develop relationships with other groups and associations that support small systems;

 

Long Term Goals:

  • Develop and delivery of low cost and convenient educational seminars throughout the year, and at locations throughout the state;
  • Increase the methods of providing knowledge and information to the small systems in a accessible and low cost format such as with webcasts.
     
  

Mission Statement Minimize

To provide current technical information and expertise to small systems which will help them comply with state and federal drinking water regulations, and build capacity.  To accomplish these goals, the committee shall:

  • Maintain a list of the section's small systems;
  • Maintain and promote a resource center of regulatory, financial, technical, and managerial references useful to small systems;
  • Support existing small system operator groups and associations.
  

News Minimize
  •  The Small Systems Committee will have a workshop, in conjunction with the Education Committee, on Operator's Day at WATERCON 2012. The format of this workshop will be to address topics common to operators serving the clean and dirty water sides of the business. It will be geared towards minimally staffed utilities, and you will recieve CEUs. Stay tuned!! (Posted 7/16/11)
